Tantrums

My little boy has discovered the outdoors. When he’s outside he loves to dig, play with water and explore the great unknown. It is something that I love to observe. However, there are times when he must come inside. As a parent, I need to make this call based on the temperature or time of the day. After all, he does need to get the mud washed off at some point. This is when the trouble starts. As soon as he is led to the house or picked up, his back arches and the yelling begins. The tantrums can last a while and as first time parents, Jona and I are finding our way to deal with them It’s got me thinking, how often do I throw tantrums? Granted I don’t kick and scream but when I don’t get my own way I can withdraw inappropriately. We all think we know what is best for us and we have our way of getting things done. Have you ever considered though, that we were created with a greater purpose and that our way may not be best? I know that God created me and that His ways are higher than mine. (Isa 55:9) It is my prayer that I live fully given to God’s plans first, without objection.
