Calling your name

Now that my little man is on the move I understand how important it is that he hears me call his name. There have been a few times that he has excitedly rushed down the driveway and it has only been as I have called out his name that he has stopped. There is urgency in my voice that he has responded to. I noticed today that when he is reading a book or playing with toys that it takes a lot more ‘calling’ to get a response.

God has said the ‘He has called us name and we are His’. Have you heard Him calling your name or are you distracted? I know that in the busyness of everyday life it can be hard to stop and listen. Yet, I know the Lord is calling to me that I can know His direction for the day. Just as parent I call for my son‘s attention for training and safety, my heavenly Father is calling for mine.

Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!
