My Greatest Joy

I was watching my son the other day as he explored the world around him. He is enthralled by finding out what is behind a door, what is in a box or how to make noise with a spoon. He is learning so much and yet so much is already known.

While I was pregnant I became aware of the miraculous work that God was doing inside me. He was forming a new life. He designed his face including his cheeky smile. He designed my son with a specific purpose in mind. I feel so blessed that God also spent the same time designing me.

My greatest joy in knowing the Lord is that He has a plan and purpose for my life. His greatest desire for me is that I would know this plan and with His help live it out. In the world around us there can seem to be so many uncertainties, so many unknowns. With young children we can often worry about what the future will hold for them. But, I know that the Lord has a plan for them. No matter what happens, good or bad, if I follow the Lord He will welcome me as His child.

I am grateful to know that I can trust the Lord and that I have an eternal hope in Him.
