The simplicity of a child
Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 8:24AM “Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” Mark 10:14-15
My son loves and trusts. It is a beautiful thing. He knows that I will feed him, cuddle, play, clothe and love him. As such, he knows me and is currently going through a season of separation anxiety. If I close a door between us he is not happy.
Jesus said to ‘let the children to come’ to Him. He taught us that we need to receive the kingdom of heaven like a little child. Like a little child He wants us to long to be by His side. He loves us, He created us, He watches us lovingly with the hope that we will fulfil all He planned for us.
There is much that I can learn from my child. I pray that I can learn to have his simplicity in my life; knowing that my heavenly Father loves me and He will provide for all my needs as I trust in Him.
