Obedience is not a commonly used word in today’s society. A google search will often generate images of dogs! As a parent though, I desire that my children will obey my voice. I love my child and I want to protect him and keep him safe. I also want to see him trained so that he can be all that God created him to be.

Obedience is something taught and learned, not demanded. If I desire that my son lives obediently then I must also. God created me with a purpose and I want to live obediently according to His plans each day. I hope that my son will learn from my example.

It’s important to remember that discipline goes hand in hand with obedience. Discipline, in the negative, is seen as the consequence of disobedience. However living a disciplined life is also the result of obedience. That is my hope for me and my family

Ephesians 6:1 ‘ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right’
