Audrey is one today. How quickly a year has gone past! As all parents know, kids grow and change so quickly. One day you’re wondering whether or not they will ever sleep through the night and the next you are enrolling them in kinder. It’s all too busy in this season to move through the motions from one thing to the next when we really need to stop and get to know who our children are. My children are tentative, busy, quiet, loud, strong-willed, funny, and caring; I can’t put them in a box. Depending on the time and season our children will respond differently, they keep us on our toes and frequently surprise us. I love them and I want to know who they are more and more every day. God is our heavenly Father and we are His children, He knows who we are but have we taken the time to get to know Him. It will take time but what a rich reward awaits for those who persevere to know fully the One who is the creator of all. Just as we take the time to listen to our children, tell them our stories, watch and learn from each other and observe the changes, I encourage you to do the same with God. Get to know Him and He will tell you even more about who you are.
